Haha! The title makes me laugh!  But it’s true.  I’ve been trying to prepare get my body the closest I can get to bikini worthiness.

We’re going to Boracay on the 3rd week of March and I want a decent looking body so that I don’t need to buy a one piece swimsuit because all I have are 2 piece sets.

My friend Grace says I have an excuse for having a less than worthy bikini bod because I already have a son.  She’s been egging me to exercise for the longest time.  So I gave myself a month before our Boracay trip to do something about my post pregnancy tummy.  (Yeah right! Like it wasn’t like that pre-preganancy hehe.)

My ideal weight is 98 lbs.

That was my weight so many years ago when I could wear a bikini and not care.  Before getting pregnant, I weighed around 110 lbs.  Let me first say, that I’m just 5 feet.  (I’m already rounding up.)  When I got pregnant, I went up to 130 lbs at my heaviest which wasn’t bad.  People say that from the back I didn’t look that pregnant.  But I could see my legs were the fattest they’ve been ever.  After giving birth, I weighed about 120 lbs.

They say breastfeeding will make you lose weight and I was banking on it.  Unfortunately, I’m not like other girls who got skinny from breastfeeding.

Up til before I started running, I was probably at 115 lbs – not much difference from my post pregnancy weight.

So a month before we go on vacation, I started running.  Jorey got me the Nike+ sensor so I can pair it with my iPod touch.  Prior to this, I already have a pedometer which we bought to motivate us to run but right now it’s just collecting dust.  Even prior to this, I already had a gym membership for 2 years which turned out to be such a waste of money since I hardly went to the gym.  Let me also say that I don’t really like running because I find it boring.  I always say, if ever I would exercise it has to be some competitive sport to keep me interested.  There’s no trash talking in running.  But the difficult thing there is I can’t burn calories by myself because I would always need an opponent.

This is why Nike+ works for me.  Since it records all my runs, I get to track my progress online and I’m motivated to compete with myself and improve my time.  Even better, it has a social networking aspect which lets you create challenges with your friends.  So even if you’re not physically together, you also somewhat get to compete with other people.  Personally, I feel pressured to run even further when I see my friends’ runs.

Another thing I’m trying out is the Mama Mio Get Waisted

I bought it on Amazon for US$70 after giving birth.  Now it’s just US$50.  I’m not sure how effective it is but I’ve definitely lost some inches on my tummy.  But then I’m also running for exercise.  But this product is really recommended to be used with ab exercises.  One thing for sure is that I like how it smells.  It smells like a spa and there’s a sensation after applying it that makes you think it’s working.

I like its smell better than the Mama Mio Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Oil I used during my pregnancy which I have to say really works because I didn’t get any stretch marks from getting pregnant.  I also used the Mama Mio Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Butter but I prefer the oil.  I guess some prefer the butter because it ranks higher on Amazon.com.

So now after exercising for about three weeks.  I’m down to 100-105lbs.  I put a range because my weight sometimes differ by 4-5 lbs in one day depending on what time I weigh.  I’m not sure if that’s normal.  I think I either eat or drink too much.
