Luke just turned 7 months a few days ago.  So far he’s been pretty advanced in his motor skills for his age.  I subscribe to babycenter.com and read the What to Expect the First Year book and I usually have to look ahead for milestones because he’s already accomplished most of them already.

Needless to say he is sooooo active and mobile.  He has a walker and but he prefers to walk without it, assisted.  His upper front teeth came out the 2nd week of his 6th month.  At 5 months he’s been drinking from a sippy cup.  At 6 months we bought him a straw cup but he prefers to drink straight from the cup. He still prefers the TV, dvd, cable remote over his toys.  That’s the first thing he goes for whenever he’s in his walker – that’s if he doesnt notice the power sockets first.

He loves books.  And he loves this book I bought for him called “Baby Faces”. It’s a big book with big illustrated faces of babies. And there’s one baby there that sticks out his tongue that he copies.

He is a monster when it comes to eating.  At this point he knows very well how to protest and complain and he does that whenever the spoonfuls are slow to come.  Sometimes he’ll get so impatient he’ll attempt to grab the dish and glug down his cereal.

At 6 months, he can identify a few of Dora’s friends from the Dora flashcards I bought when he was just a month old.  Given 2 flashcards to choose from, he can identify Backpack, the Big Red chicken, the baby blue bird, and Dora.  He likes watching Dora and gets excited whenever he hears the theme song. Even with the solid foods, he still wakes up at 3 AM for a bottle feeding then sleeps after he finishes it.  Though lately he’s been able to sleep til 4 AM before he wakes up hungry.
