Laughter is contagious
One of the odd things about me is I occasionally get uncontrollable fits of laughter even at the unfunniest of things – especially when I feel guilty. It happens usually when I’m being scolded about something. It happens often with Jorey. (It happened once with my Dad, I had to run out on him or else I’d be in deeper trouble if I laugh while he’s scolding me.)
One of the things that irk me in our house is the low water pressure from the shower. I’m used to having the shower almost drill a hole in my head coz that’s how the pressure is at home in Manila. Yesterday I noticed that not all the holes of the shower head had water coming out of it. I figured it was from soap scum so I decided to soak the shower head in warm vinegar and water. It was supposed to soak for just an hour but I totally forgot about it and only remembered when our room and walk-in started smelling like vinegar. I quickly scrubbed the shower head and got rid of the vinegar solution.
When Jorey got home, he immediately noticed the smell and thought something was wrong with the way our laundry was washed. When he asked in his mukhasim face why I room smelled like vinegar, I nonchalantly said oh I cleaned the shower head because some holes were clogged… (a couple seconds of silence later) … but you know what? I realized when I looked closer that the clogged holes didn’t have holes to begin with. Then suddenly I had a fit of laughter because deep inside I felt guilty for making the room smell like vinegar for nothing. While this was happening Luke was lying on the bed. I was laughing so hard I had to lie down on the bed beside him. I saw Luke gave me this weirded out look and then started laughing with me.

Ha ha ha.. that’s too funny! Pretty soon, Luke will laugh at anything too. That will be an even funner stage.
