I’m off to Bangkok next week

So I’m off to Bangkok next week. I’m not really sure though if I’m excited because I’ve been there before. I say, you’ve seen one temple, you’ve seen them all and Buddha basically looks the same too except sometimes he’s in the meditative position (indian sit(?) seat(?)) and sometimes he’s lying down, sometimes he’s big, sometimes he’s ginormous, but mostly he’s gold. And how can I top my last Bangkok experience of watching girls do antics with their vajayjays in Patpong with my whole family? That was classic. Welcome to Bangkok!
We kinda did the tour thing last time and I feel like we’ve experienced a lot on our last trip. From temples to elephants, even jewelery scams that, as I have recently found out while doing some research for this next trip, are pretty common. A seemingly tourist friendly local approaches you, he told us he was a cop off duty, arranges for a cheap tuk tuk ride to bring us to a jewelery shop that’s having a major sale for a limited time only. One thing leads to another, and before you know it, you’ve bought a lot of jewelery that you don’t know if it was actually worth its price.
This time it’s a business trip for Jorey and I’m just tagging along so I can have a change of scenery. That’s basically the equivalent of traveling alone except occasionally I get to see Jorey. We were actually supposed to head on to Pattaya for the weekend which would’ve been the highlight of the trip, but we had to cut off our trip because he has to go have coffee in Europe. pfft.
What’s funny (and kinda sad) is that I’m excited about breakfast buffet. Nothing says vacation like buffets, hotel stays and housekeeping!
I might try dining at Koi in Bangkok, and maybe get some authentic Thai massage too. And of course, what i a trip to Bangkok without the usual shopping at the night bazaars.

I miss the street food in Bangkok. My company used to send me there regularly for meetings and projects and I always manage to go home with a little more poundage. Haay, those were the days.
