My mom has the hots for Gong Yoo (Athur) hehehe
My mom and I got hooked on Coffee Prince while I was in Manila. So I bought the dvd when I got back to Singapore. The thing I dread about watching these dvds, I always end up watching the discs one after the other. I always get a bad headache after.
When I was on the 10th episode, I started wondering why my mom who usually messages me over YM everyday hasn’t done so since I got back. Turns out, she bought her own dvd set and she’s even way ahead of me on the episodes.
She’s so funny, coz when she called me all she could talk about was coffee prince. She had to watch it straight otherwise she wouldn’t be able to concentrate on her meeting the next morning.
Now she’s developed this big crush on Gong Yoo (Arthur in the Tagalog dubbed). She says he’s so cute when he’s tortured and he’s such a good kisser. Haha
I haven’t even watched it a second time and she’s already reviewed her favorite scenes so many times. She’s even googled the the cast. She was asking me to watch a kissing scene on you tube.
Hehe she so reminds me of myself when I got hooked on Meteor Garden. It’s just funny to think that she’s this big-time international consultant dealing with those big-time important people and then when she gets home she googles Coffee Prince.
Asian Novelas are just ultimate guilty pleasure!

Hi there. I googled gong yoo for the nth time and i got curious when i read your comment about your mom..I got scared that my daughter might have written about me??? Anyway, i can relate with her attraction towards GY bec he is a fine actor and really really handsome –for me at least (everbody around me doesnt think so). Anyway, pls tell your mom to watch Hello my teacher or Biscuit teacher and sugar candy. Its nice even if the beginning is a bit strange but i guarantee you that its worth the watch. Download it via you tube. I watched Coffee Prince 2x and its super kilig ( i bought the dvd also) and its my first time to watch a korean telenovela. In fact, i even went to the CP coffee shop last month in korea. I am happy to know that i am not alone in this latest obsession of mine!! yikes

Hi Meg,
You are definitely not alone. CP was also my mom’s first telenovela ever. Before Gong Yoo, she didn’t want to go to Korea. Now she’s looking for Coffee Prince tours.
She even said that is she had the money she’d produce a film that would star Gong Yoo just so she could see him. hehe

hey, your mom’s not the only one! im a mom myself and just like her, i watched the entire series straight! i guess Gong Yoo has that effect on females of all ages! lol! i never did like to watch asian novelas because i hated reading the subtitles or listening to dubbed versions - sometimes the voices don’t match the character…now, i studied conversational korean so that i can watch YOO in all his natural glory! = )
