Ok, I must say, I didn’t quite get the Desperate housewives joke coz I can’t think of any basis for the joke. Had they made fun of Filipino nurses then I would have gotten it (though I wouldn’t necessarily find it funny) since there were issues about nursing schools giving leakage for the boards and stuff. I think a lot of Filipino doctors are better than those in the states coz our doctors are forced to diagnose and solve health problems based on their knowledge alone and not be heavily reliant on technology.

On the issue on Cory Aquino, clearly a lot of Filipinos didn’t get the joke. That’s coz they don’t read Perezhilton. If you look closely at the part of the skit where they were showing Cory, you’d notice that her picture was pasted on a PerezHilton page. PerezHilton, the celebrity blogger is famous for de-glamorizing celebs and I personally find him entertaining. Most of Perez pictures’ have something nasty written on it and he calls most of the celeb IT girls sluts. I’m not saying people should read more Perezhilton. (I have an excuse for reading it coz I’m a bum :P) But if people knew the humor behind it would they still be reacting this way? If so, then shouldn’t they also be mad at those Filipinos defacing the green five peso bill by putting shades on Aguinaldo? Margaret Thatcher should be more furious coz I think her picture is funnier. Hehe.
