I recently subscribed to a digital magazine last April for Elle Decor. My thinking is, if you have a subscription, you usually get the issues days before the actual month for that issue starts, right? But a few weeks after May, I was still waiting for my notice that the May issue is ready for download so I opened a support ticket and asked for my May issue. They didn’t reply to my ticket but they did send me the notice that the issue was ready for download. A few days ago, I got a message through snail mail saying that my digital subscription was suspended because I didn’t have an email on file which is silly because I got a confirmation of my subscription through email. This prompted me to write Elle Magazine about what the issue was about.

This is what I wrote:


Hi,

I m just wondering why I got a message dated May 4, 2007 from Elle through post stating that my digital subscription was suspended because an email address was not provided when in fact the order confirmation for my subscription was sent through the email I gave.
Is that the reason why until now, the June issue is not yet available to me? Last month’s issue was made available to me only by mid May and I had to call to ask why the May issue wasn t available yet. Aren t issues supposed to arrive in advance when you have a subscription?
Please let me know if you need any other information so I can enjoy my subscription.

To which I replied:


Hi,
My subscription is a digital subscription and is delivered through xxx[@]xxx[dot]com through Zinio.
All the information needed is together with the initial email below.
Is it possible to just cancel the subscription and get a refund?

The reply I got was:

Dear Subscriber,
ELLE DECOR appreciates your inquiry and welcomes the opportunity to serve your needs.
As you have requested, we will resume delivery of your issues with the SEP-07 issue.
Thank you for subscribing to ELLE DECOR and we hope you enjoy every issue.

Question: Did I confuse them with my non-native engineering english? Or do the replies make perfect sense to anyone except me. Am I missing something?
